    Description

Antique Faux Tortoise Shell Needle Packet Box
    English * Circa 1850
This lovely little needle box is made of wood in the form of a knife box and it is veneered with nicely patterned faux tortoise shell. The top is inlaid with a silver cartouche. Inside it is lined with the original red velvet. There are ivory colored dividers creating compartments for the needles. It has a push button closure and it opens and snaps closed perfectly.
The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks to the tortoise. The only damage is a tiny bit of insect nibbling at one edge of the bottom. It has some old packets of needles.
    It measures
    2 1/4" high by
3/8" wide (at the back) by 1 3
    /4" deep
