Antique Victorian Banded Agate Tambour Vintage Crochet Fine Lace Sewing Hook
This Unusual and Extremely Fine Crochet Hook is a Lace Making Tool or Needle.   It has a Subtle and tapered Orange Banded Agate Handle and was used to make a chain stitch type of design on fabric.
We
received
information from a Crochet Teacher who tells us that the screw at the side of the hook was used to change hook
sizes and also was the way you could tell the orientation of the hook.
From tip to tip it measures 5-1/2" long and in the agate portion
of the Handle,
at it's widest,
it measures 3/8" wide.
Overall this Antique Crochet Hook is in very good  condition.  The agate handle is crisp and clean with just a tiny chip to the very tip, or point at the end of the handle.  It is an unusually Elegant, period Sewing Accessory.
