"A 19th C.Bone & Mother of Pearl
Palaise Royale Needle case
Two Figures Playing Cards
The Palaise Royale mark has been
replaced with a Mother of Pearl
cabochon.
Unusual carved Mother of Pearl of
two people playing Bezique."
In my opinion from speaking with some experts and looking up info I believe the following to be true...
CONDITION: EXCELLENT (see photos for details)
MATERIAL: Mother-of-PEARL , Gilt Gold
SIZE: 3.5" x1"
ORIGIN: FRANCE
AGE: c1800's GEORGIAN
Palaise Royal Cartouches were normally on the lower piece and smaller.  I think this was either a POW piece or just a unique needle case from the same time period. Really makes no difference it is not being sold as part of a set.  It is a REALLY NICE, UNIQUE piece that would make a great addition to any ones collection.  The detail is awesome!
